In Business or in a war

We Are in a Battle—But We Are the Supporting Cast

As followers of Jesus, we are engaged in a spiritual battle, but we are not the frontline soldiers. The fight is real, and the attacks are relentless, especially when we step forward in faith. The more we pursue God's calling—whether in life or business—the more the enemy seeks to discourage and derail us.

Yet, even though we face opposition, we are not the ones doing the fighting. So, why aren't we called to fight back if we are under attack?

Our Struggle Is Spiritual

The Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:12 (NIV):

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Our battle isn't against people or circumstances—it's a spiritual war. But our role isn't to fight in our strength. Instead, God calls us to stand firm and walk in obedience, allowing Him to fight for us.

What Is Our Role?

If we are not the ones fighting, what does God expect from us? Here are some key things He asks us to do:

  • Pray – Stay connected with God through constant conversation.
  • Praise – Worship shifts our focus from problems to God's power.
  • Encourage – Build up others who are also walking this journey.
  • Have Faith – Trust that God is in control, even in difficult times.
  • Listen to Him – Be sensitive to God's direction daily.
  • Stand Firm – Do not waver when trials come.
  • Obey – Follow His commands even when they don't make sense.
  • Read the Word – Scripture is our foundation and guide.
  • Work with the Holy Spirit – Allow the Holy Spirit to lead and empower us.

These are not just general Christian principles but essential for those in business for God. Each of us has a unique calling, and what God asks of one person may look different from another. But the foundation remains the same—obedience, faith, and reliance on Him.

Our Mandate as Kingdom-Minded Business Leaders

A Team That Loves to Create

Our Mandate as Kingdom-Minded Business Leaders

As followers of Jesus in business, we have a clear assignment on this earth:

  • To share the message of Jesus and lead people into a relationship with Him.
  • To live according to God's Word, applying His principles in every aspect of life.
  • To mirror the example of Jesus, demonstrating integrity, kindness, and love in all we do.
  • To be salt and light—bringing hope, wisdom, and truth to the marketplace.

This is why we face opposition. The enemy wants to silence, discourage, and neutralize those who are advancing God's kingdom. But here's the good news—we don't have to fight back in our own strength.

God Fights for Us

The battle belongs to the Lord. He gives us power and authority through the Holy Spirit, and His armies fight battles we don't even see. While we may feel the pressure, the attacks, and the resistance, our role is to trust, obey, and let God take care of the fight.

If you are in business for God, expect challenges. But don't carry the burden of battle—it's not yours to fight. Submit to the Holy Spirit, walk in obedience, and trust that God is working on your behalf.

Let's hold onto this powerful reminder from Romans 8:31 (NIV):

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

No matter the challenges you face in business or life, remember that God is for you and fighting for you. Stay faithful, stand firm, and keep walking in partnership with Him.
