Yet, when we say "God is Good," do we genuinely understand the depth and power of those words? Do we truly embrace their meaning, and are we confident enough to boldly declare them aloud, not only during joyful and pleasant seasons but especially during the most challenging times?

Frequently, when circumstances become overwhelming in seasons of hardship, we tend to focus solely on the problems we face, allowing darkness, worry, or despair to cloud our vision. This observation is not shared to criticise or create feelings of guilt, but simply to acknowledge the reality of human weakness. Often, we can unintentionally allow ourselves to believe the negative voices, the lies whispered to us by the enemy who wants us to doubt God's faithfulness and goodness.

However, the profound truth that remains steadfast through every circumstance is this: God is good, and indeed, He is always good.

To encourage our hearts and renew our minds, let's turn to Scripture, our solid foundation, and see how clearly and repeatedly God's Word declares His goodness to us:

• Psalm 34:8 – "Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him." This verse invites us into an active relationship, urging us to personally experience God's goodness by seeking refuge and safety in Him. There is joy and blessing when we rest securely under His care.
• Psalm 84:11 – "For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favour and honour; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless." Our God shines His light to guide us and serves as our protector. He freely grants grace, honour, and abundant goodness to those who faithfully follow Him.
• 1 Chronicles 16:34 – "Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever." We are reminded to express gratitude and continually recognise God's unwavering, eternal love and goodness toward His people.
• Mark 10:18 – "'Why do you call me good?' Jesus answered. 'No one is good—except God alone.'" Even Jesus, during His earthly ministry, drew attention explicitly to the unique and supreme goodness of the Father.
• James 1:17 – "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." Our Heavenly Father consistently pours out good and perfect blessings upon us. His nature remains faithful and unchanging through all time.
